New Wreaths

I decided to take a break from normal Two Tutu Ladies this weekend and wanted to try out two new wreaths for my house. I like to have a wreath up for every season, but it has taken this long to get a spring one done. Here's some pictures from the two that I made.

Fabric Flower Wreath

I've wanted to try out this type of wreath for a long time. I saw something similar on another blog (Wreath Inspirations) and wanted to make one for our spring wreath. I decided to go with brown and pink so that after the spring I could put it in my daughter's room. I used my sizzix cutter since I had to cut out around 180 flower petals.

I put them together and then added them to a wreath I got a Joanns (BOGO free).

After playing around with the placement, it was as simple as glueing them on to the wreath.

To hang it, I simply added a ribbon and a cute little bow and it was done (3 hrs later;).

Rag Wreath

I got a great rag wreath tutorial off Artfire and was excited to try it out (I have lots of scraps from different projects). I didn't get any pictures in progress since I sat down and made it last night while watching "County Strong" (highly recommend the movie--watched it 3 times!). This one will go up for the 4th and I love it!

Crafting on a Plane

Welcome to our blog! I (Kal) often come across interesting articles/sites that I want to share. We'll be using our blog to do that and share tips, deals, and general musing from The Two Tutu Ladies. I'm getting ready to head to Dallas for a training academy for my sorority (I'm an advisor for Gamma Phi Beta) and really wanted to get some work done on the plane. Well, after some extensive googling, I came across this wonderful article letting me know that yes, I can take my sewing kit on the plane in my carry on! http://handmadedetroit.com/2007/05/10/crafting-on-airplanes/ So look forward to some more great loopies at our next show, April 16-17 at Davison High School!
